Problems with the custom pointer
Problem the first: The text-selection pointer violates standard UI expectationsIn text-selection mode, Constella's custom pointer has an "aiming" mark, which in theory I love, however the actual interaction point seems to be the top-left pixel of the sprite, which differs from how that type of pointer behaves in any other context.Problem the second: With a scaled pointer it gets even worseWith my pointer scaled up (via MacOS's accessibility options) it behaves even more oddly, with the interaction point seemingly above and to the left of the pointer sprite entirely, which really amplifies the friction.Niggle: when scaled, the custom pointers are pixelatedOpinion: Even while it might discard information Constella is trying to convey with small changes to the pointer, I'd much prefer the native pointer. This is the type of application I spend a lot of time in, often switching between other text-centric work; I'd like that context switch to be as smooth as possible.Guest
